Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport hosted more than 38 million passengers in or out of the airport in 2017, surpassing the previous annual record of 37.6 million set in 2005, according to the Star Tribune.
MSP also set a one-day record the day after Super Bowl LII, screening nearly 61,000 passengers. Delta Airlines remains the most popular airline out of the hub with more than 70 percent of passengers choosing the once hometown airline. Sun Country Airlines is second behind Delta with 6.6 percent of air travelers.
